These requirements are breed-specific and can be found on the relevant breed pages. <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.retriever-klub.cz\/en\/labrador-retriever\/\">Labrador Retriever<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.retriever-klub.cz\/en\/golden-retriever\/\">Golden Retriever<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.retriever-klub.cz\/en\/flat-coated-retriever\/\">Flat Coated Retriever<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>complete directly on your computer (recommended) and submit electronically. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>or print, sign and submit in paper form.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<div style=\"height:70px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udce9 How to Apply<\/h2>\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\" open><summary><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\ud83d\udcbb Electronically + by post (preferred option)<\/span><\/summary>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The owner sends <strong>clearly legible <\/strong>documentation by e-mail to the relevant breed advisor for the breed:<br\/><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>scanned or photographed in good quality, and <strong>also <\/strong>sends the original documents by post (the originals are used for verification and are returned to the owner by post).\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>completed Application for Breeding Approval (there is no need to print or sign the form \u2013 entering your name electronically is sufficient)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>confirmation of payment of the breeding approval fee <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a copy of the membership card for the current year or confirmation of payment of the membership fee <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a copy (scan) of the pedigree (both sides), including any supplementary pages <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>health test results:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>hip and elbow dysplasia results (HD and ED), including the evaluation forms completed by the assessing veterinary surgeons and the Retriever Klub CZ certificate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>genetic test results<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>OCD examination results<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>any other health examination results, where applicable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>show critique(s) (the dog must be over 12 months of age; the bite, dentition and height must be recorded either in the pedigree or in the show critique)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>working test results:<br\/>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>OVVR or other retrieving tests<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>in particular: PZ, LZ, VP and VZ<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CACT field trials organised by Retriever Klub CZ or KCHLS<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the record sheet from the Spring Dog Survey (if the dog was measured and assessed after 12 months of age)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>photographs of the dog:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>standing profile<br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>portrait<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83d\udc49 Please send the documents as:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>legible scans or high-quality photographs of a reasonable file size, sent by e-mail<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and the original paper documents by post to the breed advisor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/details>\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>\ud83d\udcec Traditional option (by post only)<br\/><\/summary>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The owner shall:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>send the following to the Breed Advisor by email:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the Application for Breeding Approval<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>photographs of the dog<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>send the following to the Breed Advisor by post:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the original pedigree<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the originals of all supporting documents<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the signed Application for Breeding Approval<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>additionally enclose:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>copies of all the documents listed above (except for the dog\u2019s photograph)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/details>\n\n<div style=\"height:70px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udd04 What Happens Next?<\/h2>\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\" open><summary>\ud83d\udcbb Electronic Submission<br\/><\/summary>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Breed Advisor will review the submitted documentation.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\ud83d\udc49 If the documentation is incomplete, illegible or missing:<br\/>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Breed Advisor will contact the owner<br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and agree on the next steps.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83d\udc49 If everything is in order:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the Breed Advisor will verify the submitted scans against the original documents,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>record the fulfilment of the breeding requirements in the pedigree,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and return the original documents to the owner at the address provided in the application.<br\/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83d\udccc Important: Any time required to complete or correct an incomplete application is not included in the processing time for granting breeding approval.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83d\udccc Processing time: within 14 days of receipt of the complete documentation (postal delivery time and any time required to supply missing documents are not included).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83d\udcc1 Record keeping: the original Application for Breeding Approval is retained in the Club&#8217;s records.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/details>\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>\ud83d\udcec Traditional Submission<br\/><\/summary>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Breed Advisor will verify the submitted documents,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>record the fulfilment of the breeding requirements in the pedigree,<br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and return the original documents to the owner.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83d\udccc Processing time: within 30 days of receipt of the documentation (postal delivery time and any time required to supply missing documents are not included).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83d\udcc1 Record keeping: the Application for Breeding Approval, copies of the supporting documentation and a copy of the pedigree are retained in the Club&#8217;s records.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/details>\n\n<div style=\"height:70px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u26a0\ufe0f Important \u2013 Registration in the Stud Book<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To complete the breeding approval process, the dog or bitch must also be registered in the \u010cMKJ Stud Book.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Procedure<\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Please send:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the original pedigree bearing the Breed Advisor&#8217;s stamp confirming that the breeding requirements have been fulfilled,<br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the Application for Registration of an Approved Breeding Dog or Bitch in the \u010cMKJ Stud Book,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">to the following address:<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u010cMKJ \u2013 for the attention of V\u011bra Dvo\u0159\u00e1kov\u00e1<br\/>Le\u0161ansk\u00e1 1176\/2a<br\/>141 00 Praha 4 \u2013 Chodov<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\ud83d\udcde Tel.: +420 224 949 510 (office hours as published on the \u010cMKJ website <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cmkj.eu\/kontakt\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> \u010cMKJ<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Recommendation:<br\/><\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Dogs (males): we recommend registering them in the Stud Book immediately after obtaining breeding approval.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bitches (females): registration may be postponed until the first litter, unless it is required earlier (for example, for working tests).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\ud83d\udccc Registration is subject to the current \u010cMKJ fee schedule.<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:70px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h2 id=\"uchovneni-na-vyjimku\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udc3e Breeding Qualification by Exception (Working Lines)<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An exception to the current breeding requirements may be granted for retrievers from working lines, subject to <strong>approval by both clubs <\/strong>representing retriever breeds \u2013 <strong>Retriever Klub CZ (RK CZ) and KCHLS<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The following requirements must be met:<\/p>\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>\ud83d\udccb Breeding Assessment<\/summary>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The breeding assessment:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>is always organised jointly by <strong>RK CZ and KCHLS<\/strong>, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>is carried out by an authorised conformation judge who is a member of RK CZ or KCHLS, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>is open to dogs <strong>from 12 months of age<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The following are assessed:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>height at the withers, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>dentition and bite, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>position of the eyelids, <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>testicles in male dogs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/details>\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>\ud83c\udfaf Working Tests and Hunting Tests<\/summary>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To qualify for breeding by exception, <strong>both<\/strong> of the following requirements must be met:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1) Working Test (WT)\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a Working Test in class L with a minimum grade of <strong>Very Good<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>organised by one of the clubs (<strong>RK CZ \/ KCHLS<\/strong>) or abroad,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the WT must include a <strong>water exercise<\/strong> in which the dog demonstrates its ability to swim.<br\/>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\ud83d\udc49 If the WT does not include a water exercise:<br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the organiser must arrange for the dog\u2019s swimming ability to be assessed by a judge,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>if the venue does not allow for such an assessment, the WT <strong>cannot be accepted for breeding qualification purposes.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2) Hunting Test \/ Field Trial\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Any <strong>CACT hunting test<\/strong> conferring hunting eligibility and organised by RK CZ or KCHLS:<br\/>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>SZVP<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>PZ<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>VZPR<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ZPR<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SZR<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>completed with a minimum classification of Prize II,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>or<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a successfully completed <strong>Field Trial (FT) <\/strong>in the Czech Republic or abroad.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83d\udc49 Requirements:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the test must include a <strong>water exercise in which the dog demonstrates its ability to swim,<\/strong><br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the test must be <strong>successfully completed.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/details>\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>\ud83e\uddec Health Tests<\/summary>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Health testing must comply with the current breeding requirements for retrievers set by Retriever Klub CZ.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>\ud83d\udccb Completing the Form<\/summary>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.retriever-klub.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/FORMULAR_UCHOVNENI-na-vyjimku_2.docx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BREEDING APPROVAL FOR A RETRIEVER<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.retriever-klub.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/Metodicky-navod_chovna-vyjimka-final_2.docx\">Guidelines for Applying for a Breeding Qualification Exception (in Czech)<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u26a0\ufe0f Important Restrictions\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Dogs qualified for breeding by exception:<br\/>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u274c <strong>do not meet the standard breeding requirements<\/strong>, particularly the show result requirements,<br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83d\udd01 may only be used for breeding with other dogs qualified by exception (<strong>exception \u00d7 exception<\/strong>),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>\ud83d\udeab can never subsequently qualify for breeding under the standard breeding requirements.<\/strong><br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83d\udc49 A breeding qualification exception must always be approved jointly by <strong>RK CZ and KCHLS.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83c\udf0d Matings Abroad\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In the case of a mating abroad, the <strong>exception rules do not apply.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\ud83d\udcca Overview of Possible Combinations\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>bitch qualified for breeding by exception \u00d7 dog qualified for
