How to Become a Member

Any individual or legal entity may become a member of Retriever Klub CZ by submitting a membership application. Membership is also open to applicants from abroad.
Membership fees are paid for each calendar year:
Annual membership fee: CZK 300
Initial fee for new members: CZK 350
(CZK 300 annual membership fee and CZK 50 registration fee)
The same fees apply to applicants from the Czech Republic and abroad. Information on paying membership fees and making other payments is available on the Club Fees page: klubové poplatky.

Once your membership has been registered by the Membership Registrar, you will receive an email containing a link and instructions for activating your personal Retriever Klub CZ account.
After logging in, you can view the personal data held about you by Retriever Klub CZ in accordance with the GDPR and download your membership card as a PDF. Printed membership cards are not sent by post.

Once you have submitted your application and paid the initial membership fee, you become a provisional member. Provisional members have all the rights of full members except the right to vote at the General Meeting. You will gain voting rights once your membership has been approved by the General Meeting.

Further Membership Information

You may apply for club membership at any time during the year. However, your payment is valid only for the relevant calendar year, i.e. the year in which the payment is credited to the club’s bank account.
The annual membership fee for continued membership must be paid by 31 3. March of the relevant year. If the fee is not paid by this deadline, your membership of Retriever Klub CZ will expire.
Even after membership has expired, former members will continue to have access to the personal data collected about them by the club. The data will be deleted upon the former member’s request.
To rejoin the club, including where the annual membership fee was not paid by the end of March, you must complete the entire membership application process again.
Membership benefits apply to the owner of the dog, not, for example, to its handler. If the dog’s owner is not a provisional member or full member of Retriever Klub CZ, the reduced entry fees available to club members cannot be claimed for events organised by the club. The handler’s membership does not affect the applicable fee.

Club Fees

To ensure transparent accounting, club members may make payments by bank transfer, by depositing cash directly into a Retriever Klub CZ bank account, or by using a Type A postal order.
Please always make the relevant payment directly to the club’s account, not to the address or account of an event organiser, breeding adviser, trial organiser or any other individual.
Always include the correct variable symbol (VS), specific symbol (SS), payment reference and the payer’s name.

Important
Since 1 January 2018, payments cannot be transferred from one purpose to another. For example, a payment for a cancelled trial cannot be used to pay a membership fee.
Where a refund is due, the payment will be returned to the payer’s bank account. To request a refund, please contact the Retriever Klub CZ Treasurer in writing at ekonom@rkcz.cz.

Payments for Trials, Competitions and OVVR
Following the introduction of the new registration system for trials, competitions and OVVR, which are listed on the website as Events, the payment process has also changed.
After clicking Register, the system will automatically generate payment instructions and send them to you by email.
You can also pay immediately through the online payment gateway. Further information is provided below.

How to Become a Club Member: Step-by-Step

1) Pay the initial membership fee of CZK 350
Please transfer the payment to the Retriever Klub CZ bank account:

Specific symbol: 10 followed by the year in which you pay the initial membership fee
(for example, if you pay in 2022, the specific symbol is 102022)
2) Complete the online membership application

3) Check that your application has been submitted successfully
Once you have submitted the application, a confirmation message will appear on the screen. You will also receive an automatic confirmation email acknowledging receipt of your application.

How Quickly Will My Application Be Processed?

There is no exact answer. Applications are generally processed once a week.
Processing may take longer in the event of illness, holiday or another absence. The Membership Registrar will announce any absence in the News section of the club website: https://www.retriever-klub.cz/novinky
Under the Retriever Klub CZ Organisational Rules, membership applications must be processed within four weeks of receipt.

How Do I Log In to the Members’ Area?

To log in to the Members’ Area, you must be a member of Retriever Klub CZ.
Once your application has been processed and you have joined the club, you will receive:
- an email containing instructions on how to activate your personal account in the Members’ Area, download your membership card, view internal documents and access other important information
- an activation email containing a link to access the Members’ Area – click the link and create a password to activate your account and log in to the Members’ Area. IMPORTANT: THE ACTIVATION LINK IS VALID FOR A LIMITED PERIOD ONLY. You must activate your account within 30 days of receiving the link.
If you did not activate your account, please contact the Membership Registrar and request a new activation email.
The activation link is generated automatically. If you received an email entitled Welcome to Retriever Klub CZ, an activation link was also sent to you. If you have not received the email containing the activation link, please check the following:
- If you use an email address ending in seznam.cz or email.cz, check the Hromadné (Bulk) and Spam folders.
- If you use a gmail.com address, switch your mailbox view to All Mail.
If you have already activated your account but have forgotten your password, open the Members’ Area, enter your email address and click Forgotten Password below the Log In button. Password reset instructions will be sent to your email address.
- You can then change your password yourself.

How do I download my current membership card?

I Missed the Deadline for Paying My Annual Membership Fee – What Should I Do?

Members receive reminder emails containing payment information from December of the preceding year and throughout the beginning of the relevant year.
If the annual membership fee is not paid by 31 March, your membership of Retriever Klub CZ will expire. You will receive an email confirming the termination of your membership.
If this has already happened and you would like to remain a member, you must apply for club membership again.
If your membership has already been terminated, do not pay the membership fee retrospectively. Please submit a new membership application instead.

What is the difference between a member and an applicant?

And why does the status of member and applicant actually exist?
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A FULL MEMBER AND A PROVISIONAL MEMBER IS THE RIGHT TO VOTE AT THE GENERAL MEETING (a provisional member does not have voting rights; a full member does).
All other rights, benefits, discounts, etc. apply equally to full members and provisional members.
The provisional member status for new applicants, and the requirement for full membership to be approved by the General Meeting, have historical roots. Reportedly, an unnamed candidate for President of Retriever Klub CZ once brought a busload of neighbours from his village to an election General Meeting. They all joined Retriever Klub CZ at the meeting and significantly influenced the outcome of the election in favour of their candidate.

I do not see my dog/dogs in my account in the member section.

Dogs are regularly added to their owners’ accounts. If your dog is not listed in your account, please contact the Breeding Adviser for the relevant breed, who will add the dog for you.
